Hotel Crescent Restaurant, Nungambakkam, Inexpensive yet Tasty. Go to Place for Non- Veg Breakfast:

Crescent has been a go to place when thinking about non-veg breakfast and also when there's a slight craving for Kerala style food!

There are always many places to visit for breakfast but none beats the taste of Crescent. Parotta that are freshly made and flaky, Crispy dosas and Appams with all the gravies just satisfy the hunger buds and tasty buds as well.

Here's what I ordered in Crescent:

Parotta 

Kal Dosa

Egg Appam 

Puttu Kadala Combo

Chicken Curry

Egg Onion Fry 

Caramel Pudding

Tender Coconut souffle 

Chaai

Best of these i relished - Nothing matches the taste of flaky freshly made Kerala parottas. They were lip smacking good. It easily paired well with the chicken curry that we ordered. Pieces were tender and medium spicy, match for parottas. The portion is also sufficient enough. 

Egg Appam was served hot, tasted excellent with the puttu kadalai combo. Kal Dosa were decent with Chicken Curry. More concentration was on the parottas and appams rather than the dosas!

Egg Onion Fry, like the normal egg podimas was also good. I felt I should have ordered other items on the menu, as it tasted normal.  Puttu in a Kerala restaurant should be better. Was dry and difficult to swallow. Kadala was okay. 

Caramel Pudding was good, right amount of sweetness and tasted very good. Tender Coconut souffle was more like elaneer Paayasam, tasted good. Tea was absolutely fantastic! It was the right way to end the breakfast. 

Pretty good breakfast overall! Fully satisfied tummy and I loved the parottas and appams. Will always visit the restaurant whenever I pass through!

Welcome, to yet another Food review in Tastes of TamilNadu. Woah! Such a authentic delicious food, so good to write about, Hotel Mangalam in Krishnagiri.. One Liner, i loved it totally! A fantastic satisfying Sunday lunch at Thahira Hotel, Kanchipuram! Being a Sunday, and Pongal festival round the corner, the town was just chaotic! Traffic all over. We struggled to drive, forget parking! A huge crowd waiting to be seated. Biryani parcelled in Mandaral Ilai was disappearing at lightning speed!
