Paper Roast by Cafe Pramadham, Alwarpet : For Lip Smacking Dosas and much more:

When a group of friends gathered and decided to eat Dosas for morning time, the search went to look for Paper Roast by Cafe Pramadham, Alwarpet.

The Cafe maintained the same taste when they opened and few dishes they have defnitely upgraded and made much more tastier.

Located on the corner of C P Ramaswamy Road and St. Mary's Road, in Alwarpet, the place is a cute little restaurant. Basic non-AC interiors but catchy and nice. Tables are set up row-wise, not really separate and exclusive. 

We had the chance to taste the below Menu's:

Lava Podi Idli 

Poondu Kuzhambu Idli

Nellore Nei Kaaram Dosai

Paper Roast 

Butter Bun

Akkaravadisal 

Filter Coffee x2

Lava Podi idli was a single piece donut shaped idli topped with very generous amounts of podi. Yes, there was too much podi than needed for an idli, however wasnt excessively spicy or hot, so manageable. The podi should have had a little more salt, we felt!

Poondu Kuzhambu Idli, again a single piece idly topped with Poondu Kuzhambu with loads of garlic and shallots. The dish certainly did justice to its name, however, I felt the Kuzhambu was too much. The same reason why I don't like salna parotta - you don't control how much gravy you want as it is pre-soaked.

Nellore Nei Kaaram Dosai had the elements rite, the typical Erra Kaaram and ghee were wonderful together. Just that the dosa was too flimsy, could have been a bit crispy. Not a complaint though.

A place named Paper Roast needs to get this rite, we thought! Very nice and crispy! A bit too white. This is where the color, texture all matters for an overall feel. It was okay, not the best. Chutneys were fresh and tasty, sambhar was lovely, i drank a cup of it.

Madurai Butter Bun was good, just loaded with dollop of butter, and sugar, it was a calorie bomb, loved it! 

Akkaravadisal served in a dhonnai was tasty with the flavor of camphor making it taste like kovil prasadham. At home, I've eaten akkaravadisal cooked with more milk, more white-ish in color and more creamy. 

Finally, a very good filter coffee!

One Liner, i loved it totally! A fantastic satisfying Sunday lunch at Thahira Hotel, Kanchipuram! Being a Sunday, and Pongal festival round the corner, the town was just chaotic! Traffic all over. We struggled to drive, forget parking! A huge crowd waiting to be seated. Biryani parcelled in Mandaral Ilai was disappearing at lightning speed!
